The Governing Board

Bartley Green School has a long tradition of providing high quality learning opportunities for pupils; the heart of its success lies within the positive relationships between pupils, parents, carers and teachers and support staff. We, the governors take a keen interest in the learning, progress and attainment of our pupils; we are exceptionally proud of the school’s achievements, aspirations of the pupils for their future and Bartley Green School’s reputation within the community.

Pam’s Profile.

My background is in Manufacturing Industry specialising in Supply Chain and Production Planning.

I became involved with Bartley Green School about 20 years ago when I was invited to take part in a scheme introducing the pupils to the world of work.

At this time I was living in Bartley Green and working for Cadbury at Bournville. The company was keen to be involved with education and had many links with local schools. I have two daughters who were both in education at the time and I was delighted to take part and share my expertise.

From there I was invited to join the Governing Body and after about 12 months was elected to Vice Chair. I was elected Chair a couple of years later when the post became vacant.

I serve on the Finance, Audit and General Purposes Committee and Chair the Staffing and Pay Committee and the Safeguarding, Premises and Safety Committee. My experience in management is put to good use on these committees and also gives a wider perspective to issues that arise.

Governing Board Details

The Governing Board meet on four occasions. In addition there are meetings of the Finance, Audit and General Purposes and Safeguarding, Premises, Safety and HR committees, which meet at appropriate times, throughout the year.

The term of office for all governors is four years.

The Chair of Governors, Clerk to Governors or any other Governor may be contacted through the school address. Letters addressed to a Governor will be forwarded, unopened, by first class post on the day of receipt.
